The Royal Lifesaving Society – Malta Branch presented successful course participants with awards and certificates at an event in Sliema.
Fr Hilary Tagliaferro presided the ceremony at which 116 awards were distributed.
The shield for the highest number of points was presented to C company (SD) – 1st Regt AFM, while the Maritime Squadron AFM received the runners-up trophy. The trophy for the lower awards was presented to Tarxien Girl Guides.
The society is a voluntary organisation whose main aim is to teach methods of resuscitation and life-saving techniques. The Malta branch is a member of RLSS Commonwealth and is enrolled with the Commissioner of Voluntary Organisations.
The branch runs courses throughout the year.
