The SHout coalition accused the hunting minority of political ransom and opted for a referendum to remove power from politicians and let the people decide on the continuation of spring hunting.

Ironically, though the majority has spoken, they now intend using their public support as a political force.

A post on the SHout Facebook page www.facebook.com/SpringHuntingOut?fref=ts specifically states: “Let’s make this community - half of voters - even stronger and a bigger political force that will be respected by our governments.”

Not prepared to accept thewill of the majority, it nowtranspires that they are theones prepared to hold politicians to ransom. Can democracy be more vilified?
