The police band will liven up Valletta tomorrow and on Christmas Eve with two parades followed by concerts.

The first parade will take place at 10.30 a.m. tomorrow followed by a concert with the participation of singers Thea Garrett, Neville Refalo and Dorothy Bezzina in front of St John’s Co-Cathedral.

On Saturday, the band will march down Republic Street at 6 p.m. followed by a concert in Great Siege Square, in front of the Law Courts. This is the 17th year this performance is being held.

The police band is led by Police Inspector and maestro Anthony Cassar. The new CD recorded by the police band for charity includes a number of songs by Bon Jovi, Lady Gaga, Aerosmith, Billy Joel, Kool & the Gang and Michael Jackson among others.

Proceeds from the CD, which costs €12, will go towards l-Istrina. It can be bought from the Kitchen’s Garden at San Anton Palace and the Police Headquarters.
