More than 9,000 trees will be planted as part of the 34U campaign between today and February, Resources Minister George Pullicino said.

The bulk would be planted at the Family Park in Marsascala, he said during a visit to the park where a tree planting day was held.

The minister said the tree-planting campaign started in 2004 and, by February, about 124,000 indigenous plants would have been planted in various parks around the island including the Ta’ Qali National Park, the Salini Park and the Foresta 2000 area in Mellieħa.
