Part of the ongoing children’s festival ŻiguŻajg, Pietru u l-Lupu (Peter and the Wolf) is a contemporary Maltese adaptation of the renowned classic by Sergei Prokofiev.

This year’s festival edition is celebrating leading figures who left a huge imprint on children and young people over the past centuries, and this musical and theatrical production is no exception. With Prokofiev’s original score, this version promises to take young audiences on an exciting journey into Peter’s imagination. Along with Peter, the audience will meet four animals who teach him important lessons about friendship, obedience and what it means to be a hero.

The production is written and directed by Ruth Borg and has been put together by the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra, the Malta Youth Orchestra and ŻiguŻajg Festival in collaboration with Studio 18.

• Pietru u l-Lupu is taking place tomorrow at the Catholic Institute in Floriana at 6.30pm. It is in Maltese and is suitable for those aged nine and over. For more information and tickets, visit kreattivita.org.
