I find it rather ironic to hear Eddie Fenech Adami calling on Nationalist MPs to vote against the divorce Bill, once the referendum on the introduction of divorce has passed with such a convincing majority.

The irony rings out loudly when it is recalled that Dr Fenech Adami waged such a bitter, long campaign after 1981 when the Labour Party won a majority of seats in Parliament, though the Nationalist Party had obtained a majority of first-count votes. Then, Dr Fenech Adami wanted the people’s will to prevail.

We now know what Dr Fenech Adami thinks of the people’s opinion.
