Twenty parents from the Birkirkara community successfully participated in the project ‘Tlett Kwarti ta’ Spazju Għalija’, organised by Appoġġ’s Birkirkara Community Services, with the help of Sedqa Prevention Services and St Mary parish church.

During an event at the end of this project, participants were awarded a certificate and had the opportunity to meet and share experiences.

They were provided with informative material related to the topics discussed during the project and other preventive material provided by Sedqa.

The main aim of this project is to provide informal education for parents or other people involved in children’s upbringing while children attend catechism lessons.

Two groups of parents were coordinated last year and topics explored included communication within the family; spending quality time with children; how to avoid conflicts; and how to deal with stressful situations.

The participants were encouraged to continue supporting each other in the group.
