Long before No Snow/No Alps, Dripht and Bitterside had ever started making themselves heard on the local scene, frontmen Nick Morales and Daniel Genuis used to play in the same band.

A decade or so later, the two vocalists have been working together at The Candle Room, Genuis’s home studio, to work on what they describe as “a part-time fun project” with the aim of re-recording some of the old songs they had written together years ago.

Music, however, has a way of igniting the slightest of creative sparks when one least expects it, and it wasn’t long before Morales and Genuis found themselves writing and experimenting with new ideas and songs in the studio.

One of the first results of this collaboration, which Morales and Genuis have dubbed Of The Owl, is the song I Mean It, I Want It.

The song, an upbeat slab of pummelling electro-pop, has just been released as the duo’s debut single.

Meanwhile, Of The Owl are planning to write more songs with the aim of releasing an album as well as getting a full band together to play some live gigs around the beginning of next year.
