Is it not enough that people living in Malta have to put up with all the petards, church bells, noisy traffic, alarm sirens etc.?

Now there is a new nuisance which is quite frankly an intolerable intrusion on the peace and tranquillity of the evening and night. This is the fun fair on Manoel Island.

The loud, anti-social music and loud hailing microphone announcing the attractions of this ghastly fair are unacceptable! The repetitive noise starts early evening at around 5 p.m. and continues far into the night with the volume ever increasing as the night wears on! Would it be possible for the authorities responsible for granting a licence to this dreadful fun fair to insist on a lowering of the decibels so that it is a background sound rather than an all pervasive intrusion of noise not only for all surrounding residents but reaching up into the heights of Sliema and St Julians?

I am certain that my response to this unadulterated cacophony is reflected in the homes and outside terraces of many other people.
