Learning Support Assistants will not attend therapy sessions with children in industrial action ordered by the Malta Union of Teachers yesterday.

In May the MUT declared an industrial dispute over the Government’s failure to appoint LSAs even though graduate interview results had been published in February.

The LSAs have also been directed not to take charge of cases they are required to, and not to reply to work-related e-mails and telephone calls.

An Education Ministry spokesman said one of the issues regarding the LSAs, which is the appointment date of LSAs II, had been resolved on Monday.
