Air Malta will have a new website early next year that will include changes to its booking engine.

The new site will provide a framework for the updating and the re-launching of a range of Air Malta services, the airline said.

It is yet another step in the airline’s restructuring programme. Air Malta said the new website will “embrace social media”.

Customers will be able to book and pay for Air Malta flights, hotels and car hire in six languages (Maltese, English, French, German, Italian and Russian).

The website will use location-recognition technology to provide clients with targeted content and advertising. Currently, www.airmalta.com attracts 15,000 daily visits with over 10,000 online bookings every month.
