During the ninth time trials meet of the year, organised by the ASA last Saturday, three more records fell, two in the age-group category and one national.
Andrea Agius, now swimming for SW Elite and coached by former team-mate Neil Agius, was in fine sprinting form when he broke the 30-second barrier in the 50 metres breaststroke.
His new national limit of 29.69 was 0.31 seconds inside his own previous best time set in Berlin in March last year.
Agius also holds the national records in the 100 and 200 metres breaststroke as well as the 200 metres individual medley.
The promising Julian Harding (Neptunes), was the other male swimmer to post a new mark, this time in Group D, to bring up his remarkable tally to nine age-group records in category C and D.
He clocked 1:08.26 in the 100 metres breaststroke, an improvement of 0.41 seconds on the previous limit set by Andrea M. Agius in April 2011.
Harding is now under the tutelage of national coach Andy Colbourn.
In the female section, the highlight of the meet was the 1:09.36 set by Andrea Bellia, also of Neptunes, in the 100 metres butterfly.
Bellia, under the guidance of coach Gail Rizzo, was 0.59 seconds faster than her own previous Group C best of 1:09.95 registered last July.
