Archbishop Paul Cremona has appointed Mgr Alexander Cordina as archpriest of St Paul’s Shipwreck parish in Valletta.

Born in 1958, Mgr Cordina attended Stella Maris College, Gżira, and continued his tertiary education at the Faculty of Theology of the University of Malta.

He was ordained priest in 1984 and was appointed vice parish priest at St Julian’s that same year. He was appointed parish priest in Għaxaq in 1989 and served at San Blas Community between 1993 and 2007.

In 2007, he was appointed director for propaedeutic seminarians, vice-rector of the major seminary and spiritual director at the Seminary.
