The National Youth Parliament recently held a live-in at Villa Psaigon youth activity centre, Dingli, organised by the National Youth Council.

During the live-in, youths aged between 14 and 17 discussed various topics, including alternative sources of energy, the need for change in the Maltese media, and youths as the present not only the future.

Other sessions were held on team-building and leadership skills, and with representatives of Sedqa.

The youths also had the opportunity to meet various individuals involved in the subjects discussed, including Labour MP Owen Bonnici, who visited the workshops and got involved in debates.

The National Youth Parliament is an educational activity for youths aged between 14 and 30 aimed at strengthening their knowledge of the parliamentary and democratic system by enabling them to discuss social and political issues that concern them.

On September 11, the various parties in the youth parliament will hold a debate at the Parliament in Valletta.
