An environment group has welcomed the planning authority’s approval of a master plan to restore and rehabilitate the Cittadella in Gozo.

Flimkien għal Ambjent Aħjar said the project’s holistic and sophisticated treatment “shows that a great deal of thought has gone into these plans”.

The plan will promote the fortress city’s heritage and safeguard its cultural assets. “This master plan proves that proper planning, sensitive to the heritage context, along with extensive consultation, resulted in a rehabilitation project that should hopefully meet every sector’s requirements and approval,” FAA said.
