The timeless tale of beauty, jealousy and a mirror on the wall has been given a different twist this Christmas at the Manoel Theatre, where Masquerade are staging their pantomime version of Snow White.

Princess Snow White lives a fairytale life with her father and stepmother, but soon realises that her legendary beauty is more of a curse than a gift. In Masquerade’s production of the enchanting tale, Snow White runs off into the deep woods where she finds allies to accompany her on a trip to unearth the dark and terrible truth.

The Curse of Snow White, where panto madness meets Gothic fantasy, was penned by Malcolm Galea and is directed by Anthony Bezzina. Music is directed by Kevin Abela and Ernest Camilleri is taking care of the costume design.

The cast includes Colin Fitz as the colourful dame, Rachel Fabri as Snow White, André Agius as the Prince, Steve Hili as the Mirror and Katherine Brown as the Queen, among others.

This is Masquerade’s third panto at the Manoel Theatre after a break of two years.

The show will be on until January 6, and more information can be found on www.masquerademalta.com, e-mailing info@masquerademalta.com or calling 7979 3737. Seats can be booked on www.teatrumanoel.com.mt, while culture card holders get a €5 discount.
