Earlier this month, UK label Hotdisc, which is also Europe’s Number 1 country music promotion company, released Marty Rivers’ Louisiana Girl as a radio single, distributing it to various international stations.

The song is taken from the Maltese country artist’s latest album, Midnight Sky, and was penned by Rivers and his long-time songwriting partner Joe Spiteri.

Reviewer and country music DJ Stuart Cameron has also named the single as one of the premier cuts in his popular music column, which appears in the leading UK country music magazine Up Country, referring to Rivers as “the king of Country music in Malta”, and mentioning the Maltese artist’s rising popularity, not only on the international country music scene but also on gospel and ‘Middle of the Road’ stations.

“His current album has done so well that there is a big interest in his next project,” Cameron wrote. “But while we wait for that, his latest single is the cajun-tinged Louisiana Girl.”
