The sixth edition of the Marsovin Summer Wine Festival, to be held at Hastings Gardens in Valletta on July 12, 13 and 14, is set to be an event with a difference. The location alone lends itself perfectly to a walk through the garden, while enjoying the majestic views from the bastions. The festival intends to have a highly cultural and entertaining concept, offering a myriad of professional musicians performing daily.

The line-up includes Malta’s leading bands: Tribali, who will be performing a series of improvised jams; Red Electrick, giving an unplugged acoustic set; The Creepers, a cutting-edge vintage blues band; Keith & Christophe from Fellowfish, a dynamic duo with a set of rhythmic percussion, acoustic guitars, banjo and harmonicas; and Skarlet, covering a fusion of rock, club and R&B sounds, harmonised together using rich acoustic overtones. Belly dancers, live acts and chill-out music are among other attractions lined up for each night of the event.

Marsovin has engaged various restaurants and caterers to showcase their cuisine, offering a small but enticing selection of dishes at very reasonable prices. Renowned Asian fusion restaurant, Temptasian, will be manning a sushi bar; New York Best will be offering freshly made pizza on site; Chukkas Grill will be char-grilling a variety of meats; James Caterers will be cooking a variety of freshly made pasta; and Bezzina’s will be preparing an array of mouthwatering traditional Maltese dishes.

All those attending the wine festival, which is open from 8pm to 1am, will benefit from a special offer of a €12 token fee, which includes a premium festival wine glass to take home and €12 worth of wine tokens, with which they can either taste up to 16 different wines or drink a selection of wines by the glass or by the bottle. Alternatively, for those who are not wine drinkers but still want to mingle and enjoy the live entertainment, a variety of non-alcoholic refreshments will also be available for sale.

Marsovin is offering a selection of 30 different D.O.K and I.Ġ.T wines from grapes grown around Malta and Gozo. Though Marsovin encourages its guests to taste its extensive range of wines, it also encourages drinking in moderation and safe driving.
