Mark Knopfler, the legendary Dire Straits frontman, will be performing in Malta next year.

The guitarist/singer will be playing at the Granaries in Floriana on July 17, in a concert organised by NnG Promotions.

Knopfler, who was presented with a Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2012 Ivor Novello Awards, will be touring in support of his new album Privateering, released last week.

The tour runs between April and July, encompassing 72 shows in 25 European countries.

He has sold in excess of 120 million albums during his career. A multiple Grammy award winner as the lead singer/songwriter for Dire Straits, Knopfler combined wry lyrics with his guitar prowess to create such major hits as Money For Nothing, Sultans Of Swing and Romeo and Juliet.

Tickets will go on sale at www.nngpromotions.com next week.
