Croatian striker Mario Mandzukic, 26, is to leave Bundesliga side Wolfsburg to join rivals Bayern Munich, his manager said yesterday.

“I was contacted by Karl-Heinz Rummenigge who confirmed that Bayern and Wolfsburg have agreed on Manduzkic’s transfer,” Ivan Cvjetkovic said.

“Since it was the Bayern chairman who called me I consider the transfer settled.”

Reports said Mandzukic was to sign a three-year-deal for which Bayern would pay 13 million euros.

Mandzukic, dubbed ‘Super Mario’, scored three goals for Croatia at Euro 2012 in Poland. However, he could not save his side from being eliminated in the group stage.
