Nowadays, I wake up in the morning wondering: what’s next?

It seems that Maltese society has lost its soul. While only one of our politicians had the courage and the integrity to vote according to Catholic principles, I still believe a high percentage of those voting for the Marriage Equality Bill do not sincerely believe it is right. They are voting for it because it may be politically expedient, their creed being that if you can’t beat them join them.

But there are some things that one cannot do because the end can never justify the means. I do not presume to judge anyone. Every one of us must be free to make our own choices in life and to live with them but every choice we make has its consequences.

The consequences of passing this law will doubtless affect our children and their own future choices in life.

While we may not condemn or exclude those who have different beliefs to ours, neither should their beliefs be forced on us by making them law. Today, it is this Bill but tomorrow who knows what will follow? I fear that is only the thin end of the wedge.

God created man and woman and ordained they be joined as one in holy matrimony. To equate that to marriage between two men or two women is simply an aberration of God’s law.
