The Lotto Receivers’ Union, the Union Ħaddiema Magħqudin and Maltco yesterday agreed to hold further discussions to find a permanent solution to the dispute between them.

The issue escalated on Thursday when most lotto receivers had their computer terminal switched off by Maltco because they failed to sign a new agreement on time.

Following a mediation meeting presided over by Finance Minister Tonio Fenech yesterday afternoon, all parties agreed to hold further talks with the aim of reaching a permanent agreement within two weeks.

In the meantime, the lotto receivers will sign an interim agreement covering the next two weeks to enable Maltco to immediately restore its services to receivers.
