I would like to thank the Mission Fund and the Malta Missjunarja for doing their utmost, and not without sacrifice, to help all the Maltese missions.

I am also very grateful to those generous Maltese persons who helped me, two years ago, to realise my dream and open a kindergarten school.

However, we are still in a great need of so many things.

This is the third time that I am writing on my return from Cameroon. Though we succeeded to have the three classes built and the necessary office renewed we unfortunately were only able to use two of the classrooms this year as we did not have enough money to buy the necessary equipment for the third classroom: furniture, chairs, etc…

In addition, we have the problem of teachers’ salaries, a minimum wage. The pupils’ fees are not sufficient to cover them. If we decide to increase the children’s fees many of the parents will withdraw their children who are the future of this remote village and of all Cameroon.

We would also like to give a small snack to these children because the majority of them come to school with an empty stomach. What heartbreak to see a pupil during break watching others eat so that when crumbs fall to the ground they pick them up and eat them. Or worse still, they try to eat the clay itself.

My heartfelt wish is to receive, before I return to Cameroon, a tidy list of sponsored pupils even if just for one year.

Over there, €55 will be sufficient to cover a pupil’s fee, the uniform and books.

I ask readers to think of this as a great need and try to put their hand in their pocket to help these unlucky children.

May God bless and reward their generosity. He never fails to help all missionaries.
