Italian wine exports continue to rise, up nearly 10 per cent for the first three months of 2013 and bringing in €1.1 billion for producers, the winemakers’ association Assoenologi said last week.

However, the volume of wine exported dipped slightly by 1.1 per cent, the reported said.

Only sparkling wines showed an increase both in volume, up 13 per cent, and in value, jumping by 19.7 per cent, to €130 million.
