The cost of living dropped slightly last month, according to the National Office of Statistics.
Compared with the previous month, inflation slid by 0.7 per cent in September. On an annual basis, inflation stood at 2.9 per cent, 0.1 per cent higher than in September 2011.
The largest drop in prices was attributed to the hotel accommodation and restaurants category, as a result of seasonality. Maintenance materials and mobile phones were also cheaper.
The highest price increases were in the case of vegetables, followed by household appliances, books and wine.
Fuel prices also edged up by 0.1 per cent.
