It is remarkable that even such a luminary on all things moral as Martin Scicluna fails to discern the obvious connection between embryo freezing and abortion (September 23)
Embryo freezing is carried out in the full knowledge that surplus frozen embryos will be created and that most of these will event-ually either be killed or left to die.
An embryo is a living human being and, therefore, the envisaged changes to the Embryo Protection Act contemplate the willful destruction of living human beings. It thus introduces the concept of the lawful destruction of human life.
I trust that Scicluna does not find these reflections either misplaced or hysterical.
