A man yesterday admitted to assaulting his father and was placed on probation for 18 months.

Jimmy Mifsud, 32, from Xagħra, also pleaded guilty to threatening his father, slightly injuring a police sergeant and damaging his uniform on Saturday at a residence in Victoria.

A relapser, he also hurled stones at people, misused electronic equipment, damaged a car, disobeyed police orders and breached the peace.

Magistrate Paul Coppini placed him on probation for 18 months and issued a protection order for his father, valid for six months.

Police Inspector Frank Anthony Tabone prosecuted.
