A 46-year-old German woman died while diving with her husband in Gozo yesterday, the police said.

The fatal accident occurred in the area known as Ix-Xatt l-Aħmar, in Għajnsielem.

When the man realised his wife was in difficulty he sought help from people nearby.

She was brought ashore and given first aid, but was certified dead on site, the police said.
