The Methodians’ Help Fund recently organised a Fun For All event for people with disability attending the day services run by Aġenzija Sapport at the Cottonera Sports Complex. The voluntary fund is administered by Methode Electronics Malta Ltd.
Fund president Gaetano Barbara, Foundation for Social Welfare Services CEO Sina Bugeja and Aġenzija Sapport chief operations officer Marcel Pisani attended.
This annual event not only facilitates integration between those who attend the centres but also with members of the public.
It also forms part of the integration programme for people with disability receiving the service, which features regular events and ongoing skills development.
People with disability have a lot to offer, and society has an obligation to appreciate their qualities.
Through the participation and contribution of these people, the community at large is enriched.
The event is also an example of a private-public partnership that promotes the inclusion of people with disability within society.
There are currently nine day centres in Paola, Santa Venera, Ħal Far, Fleur de-Lys, Marsascala, Swatar, Vittoriosa and two centres in Mtarfa, which offer a service to over 394 people.
Clients from the St Martha’s Day Centre in Victoria also attended.
