Eighty-seven majestic white storks rested in Sarraflu on Friday night and were seen yesterday morning on the Fungus Rock. They were monitored by Birdlife, police and Malta Environment and Planning Authority officials before they flew out to sea. Hundreds of white storks began arriving in Malta on Wednesday. Birdlife reported that many were targeted by hunters.
