Finance Malta, the public-private initiative set up to promote Malta’s international financial centre, is to co-host two events in London next month to showcase Malta’s financial and legal services expertise for the city’s hedge fund management and legal communities.

On September 27, Finance Malta will team up with UK-based magazine HFM Week to hold a breakfast briefing at the Royal Society of Arts in John Adam Street. This networking opportunity is aimed at highlighting the growing reputation and potential growth opportunities that Malta’s financial services represent to London’s hedge fund managers and other service providers.

Finance Malta chairman Kenneth Farrugia will be among the panelists discussing fund re-domiciliation.

The HFM event is an ideal opportunity for Malta’s financial service providers to network with London’s fund management community and to hear and discuss current affairs affecting the industry and business opportunities for Malta.

The following day, Finance Malta is co-hosting another breakfast showcase event entitled ‘Doing business in/with Malta’ with the Malta Chamber of Advocates and the Law Society of England and Wales at the Law Society’s Halls in Chancery Lane, London.

Speakers will include Malta’s High Commissioner Joe Zammit Tabona, Finance Malta’s Bernice Buttigieg, Malta Chamber of Advocates president Reuben Balzan and Piscopartners tax partner Ramona Piscopo.

These events intend to provide a valuable opportunity for Malta’s financial services providers to foster business relations with law firms and lawyers based in London.

These firms and decision-makers will hear about business opportunities in Malta, the country’s legal and regulatory framework, and the successful development of its financial services industry based on communications, good governance and an efficient fiscal environment, Finance Malta said.
