I am a fierce critic of many things that are wrong with Malta. However, I also believe praise should be given when due.

I am lucky enough to travel through Malta International Airport every week and it is almost always a pleasure. I would like to highlight two cases of exemplary service.

Firstly, I have to mention Moira, Audrianne and their superb team at the La Vallette Lounge.

They provide world class service and are a credit to Malta, true ambassadors of their country.

Secondly, I experienced something the other day I have never seen in 30 years of frequent travel to over 50 different airports.

Out flight to Newcastle was about to take off when a young lady from the check in/ground staff appeared at the door of the aircraft with a handbag that had been lost.

The owner was tannoyed but no-one claimed it.

The young lady duly left, only to speed back five minutes later to say she had checked the flight list and the elderly lady who had lost her bag was disabled, n transit to the plane by ambulance.

She waited patiently for her to arrive and handed it over to a very relieved and happy passenger.

Well done, MIA! Keep up the good work.
