The metal detector at the Gozo courts – installed after last week’s stabbing incident – does not work, Labour MP and lawyer Justyne Caruana protested in Parliament last night.

“This is a case of adding insult to injury,” she said.

She said she had put a bunch of keys in her bag and walked through the detector and the machine did not go off. One could hardly expect it to detect a penknife, she complained.
