Two men were yesterday jailed for a total of 11 years and fined €8,000 after they were found guilty of drug trafficking in October 2009.

Magistrate Marseann Farrugia heard André Falzon, 25, of Qawra, and Sean Farrugia, 23, of Birkirkara, took the drugs from David Bajada, 23, of Naxxar.

Mr Falzon and Mr Farrugia had gone to Mr Bajada’s flat and taken almost 700 grams of cannabis because Mr Bajada had previously taken a wallet from Mr Farrugia containing about €400.

Mr Farrugia then passed the drugs to Mr Falzon.

The two men agreed to keep the drugs until Mr Bajada paid the money back.

Mr Falzon was jailed for six years and Mr Farrugia for five. They were also fined €4,000 each.
