The price of diesel increased by 1c while that of unleaded petrol dropped by the same amount.
Diesel now costs €1.37 per litre while unleaded petrol costs €1.53, Enemalta said yesterday, adding that the prices reflected latest shipments of imported fuel.
Prices of kerosene and gasoil for heating increased by 1c and 2c respectively. According to the latest oil prices bulletin, published by the European Commission in September, Malta has the third cheapest diesel and 10th cheapest unleaded petrol in the EU countries.
A 12-kilogramme Liquigas gas cylinder will rise by €1.10 to €19.60 from today and a 15-kilogramme cylinder will cost €24.50.
Gas prices were last revised in June when the price of a 12-kilogramme cylinder had dropped to €18.50 from €19.70 and a 15-kilogramme cylinder cost €23.10.
Liquigas said that LPG prices on the international market increased following higher demand in the Mediterranean region as people started preparing for winter.
