Labour MP George Vella yesterday complained that a parliamentary question he had asked on the feet-dragging by Mepa to execute an enforcement order on a scrapyard, “in flagrant breach of environmental laws”, had failed to mention the name of the site and the order number when it appeared in yesterday’s order paper.

Acting Speaker Ċensu Galea was informed by the Clerk of the House that it was customary to omit names of third-parties although the information was sent to the respective ministries for investigation.

Dr Vella emphasised that he named neither the company nor any of those responsible.

Mr Galea said he would investigate the matter.
