Travel adapters banned some time ago have resurfaced on the local market, the Malta Competition and Consumer Affairs Authority warned this morning.

The adapters pose a serious risk of electrocution as the various configurations can be accessed while they are plugged in.

The authority said they should be immediately withdrawn from the market, and if already purchased should be returned to the shop.

Legal action will be taken if they are found in a shop during inspection, the authority said.
