One of the now rusting steam locomotives that used to pull the Outeniqua Choo tjoe, sits out in the open, close to Mossel Bay. The Outeniqua Choo Tjoe was the last remaining continually-operated passenger steam train in Africa. The route the train followed was scenically dramatic, thus being an attraction for tourists. Due to landslides, flooding and other types of damage to the tracks, the train no longer runs.
