About 182 kilograms of fresh and frozen chicken and 63 kilograms of rabbits have been confiscated from a shop and destroyed by the health authorities.

The meat was removed after environmental health officials discovered a lack of traceability in an inspection, among other things.

The directorate reminded all food business operators, especially retailers, of their obligation to provide sufficient traceability records as requested by European and Maltese laws.
