Malta has agreed to contribute €15,000 towards a special trust fund aimed at supporting efforts to destroy Syrian chemical weapons.

Ambassador Martin Valentino, Malta’s permanent representative to the Organisation for the Pro­hibition of Chemicals Weapons, and Ambassador Ahmet Üzümcü, Director-General of the OPCW, yesterday signed the agreement in The Hague.

The OPCW Special Trust Fund was established last month in accordance with the decision of the executive council.
