Lawyers said they have settled a case involving Nicolas Cage and his ex-girlfriend after an all-day series of meetings with a judge.

The actor did not speak to reporters as he left a Los Angeles courthouse after more than five hours of settlement discussions.

Mr Cage faced off with his ex-girlfriend Christina Fulton throughout the day, walking past her when he arrived and both were apparently present for a final meeting with Superior Court Judge Teresa Sanchez-Gordon that solidified the deal.

The judge met privately with each side several times before the confidential agreement was reached.

Ms Fulton sued the Oscar winner in December 2009, claiming he owed her 13 million US dollars and broke a promise to give her a house for her and their son.
