The Malta Air Rifle and Pistol Shooting Club have just held their fourth and last selection competition ahead of the qualification to the Games of the Small States of Europe (GSSE) to be held in San Marino in June.

In the 10m Air Pistol event, all marksmen/women had to shoot 60 shots in 75 minutes.

Eleanor Bezzina was again in top form and scored a total of 575 from 600 points. In the qualifying round, she was followed by Raymond Cacciattolo, 541 points, and Stephen Vassallo, 530.

At this stage, Bezzina had already secured her berth for San Marino when managing a minimum qualifying score in her first 40 rounds, totalling 385 points from a possible maximum of 400.

Besides Bezzina, Cacciattolo and Vassallo, Antoine Attard, Josep-phine Galea Calleja and Romeo Zuber also made it to the final and another 24 shots to determine positions. Bezzina led the way with 234.9 points followed by Attard with 227.3 and Cacciattolo with 177.1 in the mixed event overall standings.
