Fans of Liverpool’s most famous musical export will get a close look at a variety of items and records, when the fourth edition of the Music Memorabilia Exhibition, dedicated entirely to the Beatles, opens at 60A, Strait Street, Valletta.

The exhibition is the brainchild of Philip ‘Rokarja’ Pace and John Zammit, two of the biggest Beatles fans on the island and whose combined collection of related memorabilia forms the bulk of the exhibition.

This year, the exhibition will feature two special sections; one focusing on the Yellow Submarine and a new addition dedicated to the milestone Beatles album, Sgt Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band, which was originally released in 1967.

In 2003, the album was at Number 1 in Rolling Stones’ 500 Greatest Albums of all time, and to date has clocked up sales of over 32 million copies, making it one of the world’s best selling albums.

The display will also include various formats of the album – among them vinyl in mono, stereo and limited edition picture disc, original open mono tape, 8-track, cassette and CD – as well as a Franklin Mint ceramic statue portraying the Fab Four in the familiar Sgt Pepper uniforms.

The Beatles Memorabilia Exhibition will be open from Tuesday until next Sunday.

The opening times are 9.30 a.m. until noon and 4.30 until 8.30 p.m. Entrance is free.
