Barcelona defender Eric Abidal will hold a press conference today where he is expected to reveal where his future lies.

The France international is out of contract at the Nou Camp at the end of this season and, having been offered only an ambassadorial role by the Catalan club, is keen to move elsewhere and continue his playing career.

A return to his homeland looks likely as the 33-year-old has been linked with both Paris St Germain, where he could reunite with former Barca team-mates Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Maxwell, and ambitious promoted side Monaco.

A lucrative move to the middle east could be another option but may not fit in with his ambition of playing in the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.

Abidal will appear at Barca’s Auditori 1899 along with club president Sandro Rosell and sporting director Andoni Zubizarreta.

The conference will be streamed on Barca’s official website.
