The artists of the Crown of Russian Ballet of Moscow, in collaboration with soloists from the Bolshoi Theatre and a team of talented young dancers will be presenting a performance of The Nutcracker.

On a sparkling Christmas Eve in a frost-dusted Edwardian London, Clara and her enchanted Nutcracker doll discover a magical world where she battles with the Mouse King and meets a handsome stranger. As the air grows colder, Clara and her valiant Nutcracker take a hot air balloon ride across London to the glistening Land of Snow where her adventure really begins.

The production is part of the Russian Christmas Festival, which is being held in Malta between January 6 and 17. The festival is organised by the Russian-Maltese Cultural Association in collaboration with other organisations and is dedicated to the celebration of the Russian Orthodox Christmas.

The festival includes a series of cultural and art events, including Russian traditional folk art exhibitions and fashion shows, a traditional Christmas tree party for children, a painting contest, a Russian Orthodox celebration Mass, a Christmas concert and other seasonal activities.

The Nutcracker takes place on January 10 at 4pm at the Mediterranean Conference Centre in Valletta. Tickets are available online.
