BPW Valletta held its annual candle-lighting ceremony during a dinner at the Radisson Blu Resort, St Julian’s. Local members were joined by Jeanne Martinson, a member of the Canadian BPW branch, who was guest of honour.

Candles symbolise the ambitions and endeavours of dedicated women in every country.

In the warmth and glow of their light, business and professional women in all parts of the world come together to share memories in friendship and reflect on the founding principles.

As this ceremony is performed, historical memories are evoked and the various accomplishments and achievements of women worldwide are celebrated.

Candles are lit to remember the international BPW federation and other members in every continent.

In her message, international president Freda Miriklis said: “The warmth and radiance of the candles give us inspiration to see what can be possible when we have equal access to resources and opportunities and are part of decision-making processes.”
