EY Malta is taking on board a new partner and a consultant.
Martin Evry, who will be joining as a partner, has worked for EY since 1987 and specialises in auditing firms of various sizes and with a wide range of industrial, product and services profiles.
Richard Ogden is an international taxation adviser specialising in airlines and the aviation sector. He spent 15 years as a senior tax partner with EY in the UK including secondments to EY firms in the Nordic countries and the Middle East. He retired as a partner in 2012 and has since practiced as a consultant to EY in the UK and elsewhere.
New chief operating officer for HSBC Malta
Decca Fan was appointed as chief operating officer for HSBC Malta on March 1. She has been with the HSBC Group for over 25 years, having worked in RBWM in Hong Kong, as head of operations at the Shanghai Processing Centre, head of operations at the Group Service Centre in Malaysia and recently as managing director of the Group Service Centre in Sri Lanka before moving to Malta.
FIMBank management appointment
Thomas Degen has joined Fimbank plc as the latest member of its senior management team.
Mr Degen, a Swiss national, joins Fimbank from Trammo Group, where he had served as head trade finance and project management since 2009.
Fimbank president Margrith Lütschg Emmenegger said: “Thomas is an accomplished business development executive and investment project manager and has extensive experience in implementing, structuring and executing complex international trade finance transactions.
“I am confident that he will make an effective contribution towards developing our business in general, with a particular focus on Switzerland and neighbouring countries.”
New appointment at Gasco
Gasco Energy CEO Paul Agius Delicata with Edward Sultana (right).Edward Sultana has joined Gasco Energy’s top management team after being appointed health and safety, quality and environment officer.
Ing. Sultana was employed for the past 13 years at a manufacturing company specialising in injection moulding, where he occupied various posts within the project management and tooling department.
Gasco Energy’s €23 million facility at Bengħisa is equipped with the latest technology for fire detection and firefighting.
Fogg Insurance appoints CEO
Vanessa Borg was appointed chief executive at Fogg Insurance, part of the international financial services organisation Argus Group. Dr Borg previously held senior management roles at Corinthia Hotels International and currently chairs her company Consultancy & Training Acumen Centre Ltd. In addition to her role at Fogg Insurance, Dr Borg will continue to be a director at Acumen.
