The Times of Malta regrets that in the obituary of Mrs Evelyn Montebello of July 26 it inadvertently published the incorrect time of her funeral Mass which took place at 8.15am and not at 2pm as stated. The error and inconvenience caused is deeply regretted.

Obituary

BRUNO. On August 1, at Karin Grech Hospital, ALEXANDER, aged 79, passed peacefully away surrounded by his loving family. He leaves to mourn his loss his beloved wife Magdalene, his children Anton, Fr Martin, Anna and her husband John and their children Louie and his wife Marion and Kris, his dearest brothers and sister Dorothy and her husband John, Ronnie and his wife Giulia, Godfrey and his wife Maya, Victor and his wife Rose and their respective families and his friends. Mass will be said tomorrow at 8.30am at Our Lady of Good Counsel Augustinian church (Millennium Chapel), St Julian’s, followed by interment in the family vault at Mqabba cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to the Malta Hospice Movement will be greatly appreciated. The family regret they are unable to receive visitors. “The Lord is my shepherd, I will not want; He makes me down to lie in pastures green; he leadeth me the quiet waters by.” The family would like to thank all those who, during these years, have actively sustained them, especially the doctors and the nursing staff at RW2, the chaplain, Fr Alex Bezzina, their neighbours and the Malta Hospice Movement, especially Ruth Garrity.

VASSALLO. On August 1, at her residence in San Pawl tat-Tarġa, ERMINIA (known as Mimici), née Miceli Farrugia, aged 66, went to meet the Risen Lord, comforted by the rites of Holy Church and surrounded by her family. She leaves to mourn her great loss her beloved husband Francis, her beloved daughters Alexia and her husband Michael Perotti, and Adriana and her husband Peter Camilleri, her beloved son Steffan and his wife Nicola, and her beloved grandchildren Antonia, Julia, Oliver, Robert, Luca, Jamie, Andrew and Marcus. She also leaves to mourn her great loss her beloved mother Lilian Miceli Farrugia, her brothers Mark and his wife Josette, Alberto and his wife Ann, her sisters Helene and her husband Ivor Zammit, Marina and her husband Mark Hogg, and Francesca and her husband Geoffrey Warr, as well as her in-laws Elsa Vassallo, Stephen and Jacque Vassallo, Peter and Madeleine Vassallo, Joe Vassallo and Christine Salomone together with her numerous nephews and nieces, aunts and uncles and friends both in Malta and abroad. The funeral leaves her residence in San Pawl tat-Tarġa tomorrow at 9.15am and Mass, praesente cadavere, will be said at 9.30am at the Sanctuary of the Divine Mercy, San Pawl tat-Tarġa, followed by private interment in the family grave at Santa Maria Addolorata cemetery. No flowers are requested but donations to Puttinu Cares and the Hospice Movement would be appreciated. May the Lord grant her eternal rest.

GALEA CURMI – JOSETTE. 2.8.2000. Our dear sister, sadly missed, lovingly remembered today and always. Lord, grant her eternal rest. Her brothers and sister.
