Name: Alfa Romeo 4C

Debut: 2011 Goodwood Festival of Speed

Appearance: The 4C originally saw the light of day at the Geneva Motor Show in March, but at this year’s Festival of Speed it will get a proper UK public debut. With any luck, Alfa bigwigs will realise the puddles of drool surrounding the stand indicate that, should they put it into production, it will sell like Apple iCakes. This is a simply stunning machine.

Prediction: Hard to say really, as the delicious 8C proved a limited-run hit. The 4C could be a full production model without costing the earth, and the notion of a an affordable proper sports car from Alfa should get wallets twitching all over the world.
