According to the deal inked by the two Star Alliance member carriers, bmi’s flights from London to Aberdeen, Edinburgh, Dublin, Belfast and Manchester will carry Air China’s code CA.

Air China offers daily Beijing-London rotations, while bmi offers many daily flights from London to other domestic cities in London.

The cooperation gives the two carriers an opportunity to take advantage of each other’s network and offer more flight operations to the market.

Air China is China’s only national flag carrier and a Star Alliance member. In addition to commercial operations, it also provides special flight services for the country’s state leaders on official visit to other countries.

“By a fleet of 290 Airbus and Boeing aircraft (including 280 passenger airliners and 10 freighters), one training plane and six business jets, we run 276 routes”, said a spokesman for the airline.

The routes include 69 international, 14 regional, and 193 domestic – serving a total of 137 cities, including 43 international, four regional and 90 domestic, in 30 countries and regions.

The spokesman added that the airline offers over 6,900 flights with over 1,100,000 seats every week. Thanks to our admission to the Star Alliance, our route network, with Beijing as its hub, is able to place 1,160 destinations in 181 countries within our reach.
